Four individuals were killed in the capital city when law enforcement shot and used teargas to disperse enormous assemblies at a stadium where political figure Raila Odinga's corpse was lying in state.

Political Figure Mourned

Odinga, who remained a significant presence in Kenyan politics for decades, passed away on Wednesday at eight decades while receiving medical treatment in India.

He campaigned vigorously for democratic systems, and we experience those freedoms today because of his efforts.

Countless supporters congregated on the streets from dawn, with mayhem occurring when massive group broke through a gate at Nairobi's main stadium, prompting soldiers to discharge weapons upward.

Aviation Hub Event and Government Building Confrontation

During the morning, numerous of mourners temporarily invaded the capital's aviation hub, interrupting a ceremony where President William Ruto and government representatives were accepting Odinga's corpse with armed forces tribute.

This event led to a temporary halt of airport operations.

Assemblies also occupied nearby roads and attempted to breach parliament, where the government had originally scheduled the public viewing.

National Legacy and Ethnic Devotion

While predominantly identified as an government critic, Odinga served as senior minister in 2008 and also struck a political pact with the president last year in a political journey defined by evolving coalitions.

He commanded intense commitment among adherents, particularly in his ethnic group based in the country's west, many of whom maintain he was denied the nation's leadership by electoral fraud.

Many of Odinga's mourners, who were not yet born in 1991 when Kenya established itself as a pluralistic political system, offered homage to Odinga's contributions as an advocate.
